The U.S. Department of Labor announced today that Maven Construction & Environmental, LLC (Maven) received the 2018 HIRE Vets Medallion Program Demonstration Award, recognizing our commitment to recruiting, hiring, and retaining veterans. Maven earned the Gold Medallion Award for Small Business, and is one of only 5 Indiana recipients; there were 239 recipients nationwide.
Maven Human Resources Coordinator Ronna Alexander attended the awards ceremony in Washington D.C. on 08 November 2018.
“It was really an honor to be able to attend the awards ceremony on Maven’s behalf,” said Alexander. “I even briefly met Representative Paul Cook, the author and sponsor of the bill that put this program in place.”
“We are proud of Maven’s efforts to hire veterans, and are also challenged to do more for our current employees who are vets,” acknowledged Kathy Parsons, Maven CEO/Managing Member. “Maven will continue to target veterans in our recruitment.”
The HIRE Vets Medallion Program is the only federal-level award for veterans’ employment. Recipients of the 2018 HIRE Vets Medallion Program Demonstration Award were evaluated on several criteria, ranging from veteran hiring and retention to providing veteran-specific resources, leadership programming, dedicated human resources, and compensation and tuition assistance programs.
